NHI is Invited to Amend the "Golden Standard" of Heavy Machinery Industry for Persistence in Innovation and Development
In recent days, Northern Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd. (NHI for short )under the Fangda Group formally accepted the invitation from China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd, to participate in the amendment of new Heavy Machinery Standard. Ms. Yang Ping, professorate senior engineer, and Mr. Li Weiwei, senior engineer, from the design & research institute of NHI were assigned to participation.
The Heavy Machinery Standard used in heavy machinery industry in China is a complete standardization system for design and manufacturing. Such standard is also the only standardization system formulated and implemented by the government or industry association for equipment design and manufacturing, which is also known as the "Golden Standard" of heavy machinery industry in China. Since the first edition officially released in 1958, The Heavy Machinery Standard has been amended by five times in the past 60 years with accumulated distribution nearly 700,000 across the nation.
On December 10th 2019, the national standard in English - General Technical Specifications of Heavy Machinery Part 13: Packaging - English version, drafted by NHI as the leading drafting unit, was successfully approved by the Compilation Committee.
NHI, which has participated repeatedly in the compilation and amendment of the national Heavy Machinery Standard in the past, was invited again to amend the new Heavy Machinery Standard, showing the important position of NHI in heavy machinery industry and being of great significance for NHI to expand its influence.
“Remarkable Changes” Presented in this Old State-Owned Enterprise after Completion of Mixed Ownership Reform
NHI has a long history and plays an important role in Chinese heavy machinery industry, and has created many “Firsts” and made great contributions to the national economic development. With brilliant achievements, NHI is known as the cradle of heavy machinery industry in China.
On April 30th 2019, following the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the revitalization of Northeast China and deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises, and under the right guidance and promotion by Party Committee and municipal Government of Liaoning and Shenyang, NHI successfully completed the judicial restructuring and mixed ownership reform, and Liaoning Fangda Group became the largest shareholder of NHI by laws. Thus NHI conquered the summit with firm strides and step into a new chapter of historical development.
Liaoning Fangda Group, a well-known private enterprise started from Liaoning Province and now distributed around the whole country, mainly engaged in carbon, iron & steel industries and medical & pharmaceuticals services as its major business, and heavy machinery manufacturing, commerce, trade and real estate as complement. During the rapid development of Fangda Group, Mr. Fang Wei, the chairman of the board of Fangda Group with the belief of " return his hometown to invest and contribute to hometown", participated in the judicial restructuring and mixed ownership reform of NHI after participating in the mixed reforms of Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. and Zhongxing Shenyang Commercial Building Group.
As the strategic investor, Fangda Group brought into NHI the completely market-oriented system, abundant capital resources, and a new business development concept. The enterprise value of "operating enterprise must be beneficial to government, enterprise and employees" was implemented. The inertia and behaviors as "sloth, relying and extortion" were obliterated. The general working guidance as "notion transformation, hard working and being practical and realistic" were put into execution to create a standardized, fair and credible business development environment where everyone is equal under the rules. An assessment and incentive mechanism as "golden Mountain in front, and tiger in the rear" and "more pay for more work" were promoted. Through a series of measures, the deepening reform of NHI has been effectively promoted, and NHI has been significantly enhanced with vitality and competitiveness in market. NHI has been renewed with new vitality, and the employees are now fully stimulated with enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and innovation. Since the mixed ownership reform, the development of NHI has continued to improve. In 2019, new orders of 1.857 billion yuan were achieved, with year-over-year growth 43.28%. The profits through reorganization and production reached 560 million yuan. In the first quarter of 2020, overcoming the severe challenges caused by the Covid-19, new orders of 1.03 billion yuan were achieved, with 275% increase over the same period last year.
New Products Development Create New Space
Technology and research & development are the important supports to ensure competitiveness of enterprise. After the mixed ownership reform, Liaoning Fangda Group had given full supports to NHI for its more investment in technology research & development, adjustment of product structure, manufacturing of high added value products, realizing product updates, comprehensively improving the core competitiveness in the segment market.
On the basis of integration of technology, research & development, NHI put large investment in purchasing the graphic workstation and servers. Design softwares were bought and updated to improve design conditions, so that the design quality and efficiency of design and process had been greatly improved. The first domestic heavy equipment intelligent cloud service expert management system jointly built by Shenyang Institute of Automation ,Chinese Academy of Sciences and NHI was officially launched, which was an important step towards product intelligent transformation.
The distribution policy was emphasized to technology, which greatly arouses the enthusiasm of research and development team in tackling key problems and innovation. Such key technological projects as the improvement of chain plate manufacturing process of apron feeder, the optimization and transformation scheme of sintering machine trolley and similar box parts flexible process, and the intelligent special welding process equipment for narrow space and large size components, have achieved preliminary results, effectively improving the competitiveness and profitability of the company's traditional products.
NHI’s independently designed and developed products are gradually put into the market. The first order of self-movable telescopic annular stacker was achieved in overseas market, which opened a new market field of mobile stockyard; the first EQC6330 full section TBM in large diameter used in coal mine rock roadway in China was successfully applied in Shandong Xinjulong coal mine and successfully excavated; the first diameter of 4.5m full section semi coal roadway TBM in China has completed factory acceptance; the first T12 active multi-function scraper in China is in the factory Trial assembly, and will be applied to Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station project; high and low speed sand makers were sold in the market, laying a foundation for developing the market of complete sets of sand aggregate equipment; the design and development of complete sets of 100t ultra-high power electric furnace equipment was completed, which is suitable for the market promotion. The success in development of a series of new products also represents NHI’s comprehensive upgrade on the understanding and grasp of industrial standards.
